You are the perfect yogi for me if you:

  • Have been considering yoga but do not know where to start
  • Have been told you “should” do yoga but do not know what that means
  • You are stressed and overwhelmed and the idea of letting go sounds amazing
  • Your dog does “downward dog” pose every day and you want IN on the action
  • You consider yourself an athlete and know that restoration is critical to your success

Yoga transforms.

I believe in the transformational healing power of yoga. Deeply embedded into my yoga teaching and personal practice is my belief in that transformation.

Yoga enhances resiliency: physically through movement, socially through connection, emotionally through compassion and gratitude, and mentally through transcendence and possibility.

Just as in my wellness coaching, I bring my whole self – and over 40 years of experience in health and wellness, to my teaching. As a competitive long distance runner, I found that lowering the mileage on the roads, while lengthening the time on my yoga mat, I became stronger in mind, more flexible in body and more wholehearted and authentic in living.

As a yoga instructor I pull from a number of yoga styles to focus on alignment: alignment of body, mind, and spirit.

My intention for my students is for you to leave your mat stronger (mind and spirit), aligned, present, and grounded in joy and connection.

I teach:

Yoga transforms. Yoga is not an action; it is a presence of mind.

Won’t you join me?

I am extremely grateful for the teachers who inspire my practice and teaching: Sage Rountree, Mira Shanti, Bo Forbes, Judith Lasater, Lizzie Lasater and Caren Baginski.

I look forward to meeting you on your mat!

  • Regain

Yoga for Athletes

Inhale. Exhale. Excel.

Integrating yoga into your training will enhance your performance in every way: from rebuilding fatigued muscles, to speeding up recovery, strengthening stabilizer muscles and core and releasing tension and stress.

But that’s just half the story.

I work with clients to attune to their physical AND mental selves. Mindfulness training for athletes positively affects athletic performances for athletes across the board. The mind/body connection produces greater resiliency, efficiency, proprioception and, most importantly, joy of movement.

My clientele has included individuals, groups, clubs, and teams like the University of Michigan men’s and women’s varsity teams. I work closely with coaches and trainers to customize effective poses and sequences.

Yoga as Medicine

Discover the therapeutic capacity of yoga. I work with individuals recovering from the effects of cancer treatment; managing a chronic disease; experiencing stress, anxiety, and/or depression; or people simply looking for an opportunity to embrace quiet strength- in the mind and body.

WHAT CLIENTS SAY

“Lisa has a unique ability to build a yoga session and routines based on your specific activities. She quickly identifies your individual mechanics and helps you get the most out of a yoga session without requiring you be an expert with deep knowledge of poses. She is extraordinary at what she does, and I actively recommend her to friends.” – Marc W.
“I have tried yoga classes many times over the years and had decided that I just wasn’t a ‘yoga person.’ I said time and again, that if there was a yoga class designed with athletes in mind, that might work for me. Lisa’s style is a great match for me. Lisa is an experienced and competitive athlete so she really understands both the minds and the bodies of cyclists, runners, swimmers, climbers and all around active people. The classes are low key and her instruction is clear and focused. – Susie B.
