Starting down a trail without a map is likely going to be a hike with frustration. A comprehensive health and wellness assessment, The Discovery Session is your map to wellness. Together we’ll give a shout out to what’s working well; identify the areas you want to improve, create your wellness vision; and help you create your trail map for moving forward.

Hit the Trail: Discovery Session + 3 Wellness Sessions | $320

You’re at the trailhead- which way do you want to go? In addition to the 75-minute Discovery Session, we’ll touch base for three more follow-up sessions. In these sessions, we’ll discuss your weekly goals, review the ground covered, and create a new set of goals to keep moving forward.

A traveling buddy can make all the difference when on an adventure. In the hiking world we never leave home without our 10 essentials – what are your 10 essentials? With your wellness map in hand we’ll check in each week, steadily making your way to your wellness destination – it might be rocky, it may be smooth and easy, or it might mean you have to stretch and reach a bit beyond your comfort to reach the summit. No one said it is easy, but the view is well worth the effort!

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I work with you if I do not live in the Ann Arbor/Metro Detroit area?
Yes! Wellness coaching can be done over the phone or by Skype and still deliver powerful, transformative results. I work with clients across the United States.
How does wellness coaching differ from psychotherapy or personal training or therapy?
I believe wholeheartedly that there are many avenues to choose from when making lifestyle changes for better health and wellness. As your wellness coach I adhere strongly to a professional code of ethics and work only within my scope of practice. It is not my role to make diagnoses or offer health related advice or counseling in areas outside my area of expertise. It’s not uncommon for my clients to be working simultaneously with me and their psychotherapist.

My expertise as a wellness coach comes from my background in the areas of health, wellness and behavior change, and while physical fitness is an important component to living a healthy lifestyle, it’s just one. I will work with you to find success in all areas of wellness: social, emotional, spiritual, environmental, occupational, intellectual and physical wellness.

Will you coordinate with my physician/healthcare provider?
Your medical provider may suggest wellness coaching for help in making lifestyle changes that will be sustainable and will help you prevent, manage, or even reduce the complications of a chronic disease. My job is to be your ally, helping you improve your overall health and well-being  by developing an integrated and holistic wellness plan. At your request and with your consent I will collaborate with your healthcare provider.
Does my insurance pay for your services?
Many insurance companies have begun to cover wellness coaching. It is best to consult with your insurance company to see if it is covered. I am happy to provide you with a receipt for services. Some clients have been able to use employer-offered flexible spending accounts for wellness coaching services.
Can you help me lose weight?
Sure I can help you with this goal. My guess is this is one of the areas you have been struggling with for a long time and have found yourself again and again on the yoyo of the weight loss continuum. Your weight loss goal may be what draws you to wellness coaching, but I suspect as you gain confidence and a sense of control you will find ways in which you are able to sustain the results and ultimately find a better balance in all areas of healthy living.
